Every Thursday afternoon, boxes of seasonal vegetables are delivered to homes in Helston using the Mustard Seed Van.
Under the supervision of one of our volunteers, the trays are packed in the morning and taken out by those we support who have learning disabilities. This is just one of the Mustard Seed activities in which they acquire essential life skills of dealing with the general public and handling money, which helps integration into the wider community.
Wherever possible the produce used is grown by local farmers, or comes from our own allotment. This local sourcing is not simply ethical but also makes sound economic sense with delivery on a Thursday frees you up from weekend veg shopping.
If you would like a weekly or fortnightly visit from the Vegetable Round, there are three sizes of box available. Please contact the office on 01326 564194
