A little dicky bird told me you would like to help?
You can help Mustard Seed in many different ways, why not have a look at some options below:
Sponsor a placement
One of the main areas of the amazing work that Mustard Seed is involved in revolves around empowering and encouraging some of the most vulnerable in our local community to learn valuable life skills, work related skills and to educate the benefits of healthy eating.
It costs £40 a day* for each individual to access this programme, which is not a lot when you consider the difference it can make to the individuals self confidence and skills base. Helping each individual to become more independent, improving physical and mental health and gaining skills which may lead onto employment.
* this may cost extra for one to one intensive supervision.
Prayer
Absolutely essential for us, we really appreciate your prayers, it underpins what we do and we thank you for agreeing to pray for the work of Mustard Seed.
We also have a monthly Prayer Breakfast (usually the first Friday of each month) if you would like to be notified about this, please do get in touch. It would be great to meet you and Pray together for the work here as well as our local community.

“VOLUNTEERS ARE NOT PAID. NOT BECAUSE THEY ARE WORTHLESS, BUT BECAUSE THEY ARE PRICELESS.” -UNKNOWN
Volunteering can help in so many ways, it is so much more than just free labour. Your generous giving of time allows us as a charity to spend money we are saving in other beneficial ways to further the work we are doing in helping the most vulnerable in our community.
Many volunteers have commented also that there is a personal gain from volunteering. For some receiving an education, contacts, friendships, a sense of worth and acceptance, and being a part of something bigger and better.
We do take volunteering seriously here at Mustard Seed, and the importance of safeguarding is at the very centre of what we do. To be a volunteer at Mustard Seed you would need to be able to support someone who is vulnerable, undergo safeguarding training as a minimum (any posts working with vulnerable adults regularly will also require completing the Skills for Care program) and willing to have a DBS check. We do require all volunteers to sign a volunteer agreement – this enables the position and role to be as clearly defined as possible ensuring consistency and protecting both the volunteer and the charity. We do offer the opportunity to partake in various training courses and you will have a dedicated supervisor who will be able to assist you if required.
Volunteering roles are many and varied, from serving behind our cafe counter to working in our cafe kitchen, helping at the foodbank warehouse to decorating and being an odd job man.
If you are interested in volunteering then please do make contact via our Let’s talk page.
Vodafone Just text giving ceased to exist on the 31st March 2019.
We are currently investigating other simple and quick ways for this type of giving.

Friends of Mustard Seed
Would you like to be our friend!!
Cool we would like that too.
Our friends commit to giving on a regular basis, from as little as £3 a month to as much as you would like to give (suggestions are £3, £6 or £9).
This is for ongoing monthly giving and we can send you a form that would enable this through completing a standing order form with your bank or building society.
Just email us at mustardseed@post.com and request a standing order friends form.
Legacy or large sum blessing
